Leah walked through the woods quickly, a glower on her features. She was angry. She whirled, and slammed a fist into a tree. "What is going on?" She yelled. She was far out in the forest, and her brown eyes were wild. Her body was trembling violently, and she felt a flash of searing heat. She fell to the ground, and then rose up again, but she had morphed. She ran forward, her body changed into the slim gray wolf. She flew through the woods, her mind boiling with bitterness at Sam. She snarled, and ran faster, as if she could leave it all behind in these dark, ancient woods. She could smell the stale stench of some bloodsucker, but it was probably just one of the Cullen’s stray scents. She was a loner at the moment, and felt that weight of being her own alpha on her shoulders. She snarled, and then stopped. She had to get a hold of herself. She was in the bloodsucker's hunting grounds now. She needed to get back. She turned, and started back, calmer now. Her eyes watched the woods around her, while her rounded grey ears were pricked to any sound. She padded quietly, waiting for her mind to calm a bit more, so she could morph back.

Rosalie sat in the tree, waiting for the perfect time to jump on a deer below. She looked about. The forest was still. Her hard expression sat on her face, angry looking, as always. Without hesitation, she climbed down quickly. She sped around, almost at her fastest. She looked around, and recognized the enemy. She climbed up into the closest tree, and got a closer look in on the wolf. She knew who it was, obviously it was Leah. She had came here many times before. "What are you doing here?" She asked, loud enough for the wolf to hear. "Think you're wanted here? I doubt it." She sat there, and waited for some indication of Leah seeing her. She strummed her fingers, and slipped the black sunglasses on as the sun poked through the clouds above the small clearing. Quickly it went away, and she buttoned up her grey cardigan, taking off the sunglasses afterwards. She wasn't at all frightened. She knew it wouldn't be a battle, like always. It was her grounds, not hers. Nothing stopped her from fighting. She turned, and a small smile grew on her lips as she admired the view. "What a pretty day."

Leah snarled quietly to herself as the stupid bloodsucker called out to her, saying that she wasn't wanted. Of course she wasn't wanted. Sam had shown her that rather cruelly. She growled at her, her lips peeling back to reveal her sharp teeth. Her ears lowered to be pressed angrily flat on her skull. She turned her head to the side. She wouldn't change back to talk to this stupid leech. She lifted her head to the trees, to find her. She was in a sour mood, but she didn't want a fight. She just needed to get to somewhere where she could finish her rant. She felt her hackles rise involuntarily at the sight of the bloodsucker perched in a tree. She huffed out a breath, and turned her head pointedly away from her. Who cared what this leech said. Leah was already in a bad mood, not much could make it worse. She just wanted to rip someone’s throat out. She knew in the back of her mind that it wouldn’t make it better. She clenched her paws, and they dug into the moist, dark brown earth. She glowered at the bloodsucker. Just what does she even want, showing herself to me? She thought crossly.

Hayate Hawkeye was perched in a towering, old oak tree. She listened to a beautiful vampire, she could tell by the voice, talk to a huge wolf. Wait, a huge wolf? What was that about? She watched for a moment. The wolf was a large, grey beast, slim and fast looking. She almost fell from her branch. It seemed to act intelligent. She had never seen anything like it. She shook her head. Maybe she would introduce herself to the other vampire. She moved swiftly, and popped up in the limb opposite the pretty vampire. "Hello there, I am Hayate." She said, deciding to ignore the wolf. She flashed her a smile. Although she was a vampire, she still had kept her soft, emotional brown eyes. She pulled her dark hair out of her face with a delicate hand. She was small and petite, her father had said. She smiled shyly again. She curled her leg around the branch. Her black, knee-high boots, black leggings, and sleeveless black shirt were in contrast to a red cloak. She curled the cloak around her arms, balancing precariously on the branch. She made a salute to her with her right hand. ”It’s nice to find someone like me.” She said with a wry grin.

Chris had been following Leah's scent for hours, determined to assist if she got into a predicament. Lately he'd been pretty protective over everyone. His deep russet paws thumped against the rich soil. The strength of her stench was growing larger with every step, until he looked up to see that he was at her side, surrounded by two bloodsuckers. Okay, this is awkward, um, he said to Leah. Quickly he morphed, his dark skin shimmering, thickly coated with sweat. "We don't want any trouble. We won't trespass again, just, please, we don't want to fight," he declared loudly, as they were around 50 feet below the two vampires. "Leah, we should leave," he whispered under his breath, backing away slowly. He definitely didn't want to seem bossy, or overprotective, but he had a liking for her, and didn't want anyone hurt today. Quickly, he transformed into the flaming russet werewolf he had been moments ago, and backed up another few paces.

Leah snarled quietly at him. Her own gray body was tense. She sighed to herself. He was right. They should leave. She hadn't realized she had gone so deep into the woods. She took a step back with him. Fine. Let's go. She snarled. Her slim gray body eased back into the trees again, and then turned. She wouldn't run. It would seem like she was running from them. She walked stiffly away. She paused, waiting for Chris. What are you doing here? She asked him abruptly. Her gray fur was standing on end from her tension. Her eyes were burning with an inner fire. She wanted a fight, but she knew she couldn’t take on two bloodsuckers. Chris probably wouldn’t help her in a fight. He had gone too soft. She chuckled lightly, not bothering that he had probably heard her thoughts. Not much could be hidden in wolf form.

Chris winced at her snarl, but lunged to trot at her side. Sorry if I seem like I'm being overprotective, or trying to boss you around. I just don't want you hurt, he whined gently, pointedly gazing away and slowing down to a brisk walk. A cold raindrop plopped onto his moist black nose, and soon it began to pour. My house is closest to here. It looks like the weather's going to get pretty bad. Would you like to stay at my house until it clears up? he inquired, head down as she trudged through the mud. The rain plastered his mud covered coat to his body, cold seeping into his frozen skin. He shivered and heaved a sigh of relief when the image of his isolated home loomed into view. As they reached the doorway, he shook out his coat and quickly shifted to become human once more. His muscles rippled, bulging with his buff form, as he flung open the door and invited her to enter, the fireplace in the living room ablaze. "Son, Leah, come warm up. The storm is going to get very bad," Rex Black insisted, slamming the door and locking it with the pair inside the cozy home.

She sighed. Well, it looked like she would have to. It was too wet to walk home human, she didn't have her truck, and it would be miserable walking home as a wolf. Also, she didn't feel like morphing in case someone else phased in and annoyed her. She was human by now, and grabbed a blanket off of the couch. She wrapped up in it, and plopped down on the couch. She would leave as soon as this nasty weather cleared. She watched the crackling fire, the flames dancing merrily. She narrowed her eyes. The rain had changed to hail and sleet. They had got in just in time. Her dark hair fell over her chocolaty brown eyes, and she closed them, exhausted. She fell into a light slumber.

Chris sighed quietly, hoisting her gingerly into his muscular arms, and made for the archway that led down the hall, to the guest bedroom. "I'm sorry you had to stay with me," he murmured, too gently to wake her, and laid her on comforter. Being werewolves, they hated to be covered up unless it was wintertime, and the heater was exceptionally warm at the present. Chris flipped the switch, turning off the light, and whispered, "Goodnight, lovely." The storm raged until morning, even cracking the windows slightly with its force. When it passed, the sun rose high in the sky, indicating it was time for Chris to let Leah go. He rapped his knuckles on the eccentric white door and called to Leah, "Storm's passed."

She yawned, opening her eyes again. She was still tired from the last few sleepless nights. She had been patrolling for the last week to get this off her mind. She heard his voice, already knowing by the lightness outside that the storm was gone. She got up, and spotted him. She sighed slightly, and pulled her hair out of her face. She opened the door wider, and stepped out. It was time to go. "Er... Well, bye Chris." She said, moving towards the door. She stepped out, feeling the air. A brisk, wet feeling prevailed the dawn light. She stood for a moment, wondering how to get home. She would probably morph, just to get there faster.

"Want me to walk you home?" he inquired, hoping to get some more time with her. He had always loathed Sam for having such a pretty girl willing to die for him, and had confronted him about breaking her heart once. "She loved you, and you ditched her like a sack of potatoes!" he recalled shouting, hair on the back of his neck rising at the thought. "Just so you know, I think that you deserve better than Sam, and that he was wrong to ditch you like a sack of potatoes. If I were him, I would've never hurt you, ever," he remarked softly, shuffling his feet in embarrassment. His cheeks went red, and he closed the door to his back, closing his parents out from the conversation. He jogged down the steps and called up, "I'll go with you anyway. I need a good run. The weather's prefect. Wanna race?" He beamed at her broadly. They both loved to race, and both usually won against others. He'd never raced against her, and was curious of the outcome.

She smiled slightly, a little stunned at what he said. She grinned at his request to race. "Oh, I'll run you to the ground!" She commented, and paused. "Phased or not?" She asked him. EIther way, she would still have a lot of fun. More, perhaps, than she had had in ages. She chuckled, and flashed him a smile. She narrowed her eyes, as she crouched below the porch steps, awaiting his choice for morphed or human race. She felt confident either way. That was one of the things she could pride herslef on. Being thr fastest. Maybe it had to do with her gender. Her wolf form was slim, light gray, and feminine. Maybe it was taht, not the ehavy strength of the boys, that lent speed to her paws.

Chris shifted, becoming a lightly built, russet wolf. Unlike most of the others, he was light on his feet, and the fastest against everyone but Leah. You're on! he challenged mischievously, lining up between the cross-trees. At the sight of her smile, his heart lightened, the fog lifted. She was happy, he knew it. Maybe he had made her happy, for once. Not Sam, when he loved her. Chris seemed to clearly understand her, love her, enjoy her presence. They were the same, in a way. He thought it was crazy, but maybe he had imprinted on her? The breeze ruffled his coat, drying his damp skin. Shafts of sunlight filtered between leaves and branches onto him, leaving him with a majestic appearance.

(If they imprint on each other, now that would be interesting)
She changed, too, into the light gray she-wolf. She paced up to the start line. Your on! She though, her gray fur shifting and ruffling lightly in the wind. She glanced at him. He looked so noble and proud in the filtered sunlight. She had to admit. Maybe she liked him. Well, it could be something more. She didn't want to leave him. She wanted to stay with Chris. She smiled at him again. Ready... Set... Go! She said, and shoved her hind paws into the soft earth, springing foward, a blur of grey fur.

(Very.)
Chris bolted into the lead, but slowed to race neck in neck. Her pretty gray fur flattened against her lithe frame, the temperature rising. He parted his jaws in a gentle pant and howled playfully at her, before bursting into another, only slightly speeding up. His paws thrummed the ground, pace matching hers. His heartbeat fought wildly, but it wasn't because he was tiring out or was exhausted, it was the adrenaline rush, the exhilaration the race brought him. The exhilaration she brought him. Should I take it easy on you? said Chris childishly, yet in a humorous way.
