Christopher Black sat upon a flaking navy lunchroom seat, spooning a mouthful of mildly hot chili into his open jaws. His deep, rich, chocolatey hazel gaze was fixed upon the Cullens, who sat close to the window, staring at the rest like they were going to eat them. Which, if they weren't vegetarians, they would. Chris knew their precious little secret, that they were leeches, bloodsuckers, vampires, whatever you wanted to call them. But the Cullens weren't normal vampires, they only drank the blood of animals. Seeing Bella Swan with Edward Cullen was disgusting to the Blacks, to all of the werewolves. But, they kept truce, and for Jacob's sake, they were even polite. Jacob Black, Chris's cousin, was in love with Bella, but Edward had lured her into the realm of the undead, and was to be immortal. Of course, Chris had wanted to rip off every single one of their heads, but Jacob prohibited it. "Bella would hate me after that, Chris, you know that!" Jacob had hissed in his ear when Chris had suggested it. The sound of laughter jolted Chris back to the present. The new girl, Alexia, she was called, was being mortified for having no place to sit. "Hey! You can sit over here," Chris called across the cafeteria, pulling out a chair for her. He smiled, pearly white teeth rather sharp, but not abnormally so.

BUT I NEVER TOLD YOU WHAT I SHOULD HAVE SAID, NO I NEVER TOLD YOU, I JUST HELD IT IN AND NOW I MISS EVERYTHING ABOUT YOUAFTER ALL THE THINGS WE'VE BEEN THROUGH, YEAH, I KNOW IT'S NEVER GOING TO COME AGAIN "Can I sit here?" Alexia asked in a slightly exasperated voice. No luck, again, and she sighed and began to walked to another table. Before she even got there, a girl sat down in her intended spot. She once again sighed and exhaled, blowing a loose piece of her hair from her face. It was tied up in a high ponytail, and that one piece wasn't long enough to reach the hair tie, so she really just had to deal with it.
Her cheeks turned bright pink when people began to laugh at her for being the only one still standing. She seemed to sink lower, trying not to be that noticeable. Usually people liked her, and would offer her a seat, but her first day at a new school was just horrible for the sixteen year old. Her hands began to tremble as she looked down, hiding her eyes. She heard a shout over the muttering and laughter, and she looked up, seeing a boy who had pulled a chair for her. Smiling thankfully, she hurried there, placing her tray on the table and trying to hide her face. "Thanks..." She thanked quietly, playing with her plastic fork. She tried to get her appetite to return, for the embarrassment had made her stomach feel a bit queasy.
Her hazel eyes looked up at the boy as she tucked the loose piece of hair behind her ear, only to watch it fall stubbornly in front of her left eye again. She gave up and began to pick away at her food, stealing a glance at the stranger. Swallowing, she smiled at him, and at the fact that she felt her confidence return. She held out her hand. "I'm Alexia Key. But, I prefer you call me Alex, or A.J, or Lexi, or... whatever you can think of, really," she said with a small, innocent laugh, surprised that she was acting herself. Not the perfect cookie-cutter girl everyone knew from her previous school. Once again she blew the loose hair from her eyes, only to frown when it fell in front of her face again.

Leah snatched up her tray, famished after another night of patrolling the borders. She spotted Chris at a table with the new girl, and moved over. She seated herself by him, and dug in. She tossed her dark hair back, and glanced at the new girl. She herslef was in her last year here. She waited for Chris to introduce himslef to the girl, she called herself Alexia. She had to supress a smile. She would be in for a shock at how hot his skin was. Hers was the same tempature. A werewolf trait.
She closed her eyes for a moment, tired. She had bags under her brown eyes from lack of proper sleep with all this running around as a wolf. She covered her face with her hands, to block out the light. She sighed. Exhaustion had set in. When I get home, I am just going to go to sleep. She said to herself.

"Christopher Allen Black, but you can call be Chris. This is my friend, Leah Clearwater. Nice to meet you!" he greeted warmly, taking the hand shake vigorously. "Hey, Leah," he whispered to Leah, on his other side, nodding in greeting. "So, where did you used to go to school?" he asked coolly, imaging her coming from Arizona, like that darn Bella Swan. Leah, do you remember when Bell moved here? he asked Leah silently, growl rising in his throat at the thought. But, he quickly stifled it. He didn't want a certain mortal knowing his secret or being freaked out. His thoughts drifted to Leah, her pretty black hair, deep amber eyes. Then, he imagined her in wolf form. Her long, flowing grey coat shimmering in the moonlight, piercing gaze a beautiful yellow.

She tried to smile, but only a grimace came out. She really held a grudge agenst Bella. Her keen hearing detected a slight growl from Chris, too. Leah chuckled. "Yeah, nice to m-m-...meet you." She said, yawning at the end. She wondered if she should just ditch the rest of today, to just go sleep somewhere. She was seriously thinking about it, when he asked her about Bella. She smiled, and thought back, Of course I remember that. She picked at her food, almost finished. A thought popped unbidden into her mind. What was Chris doing after school, She wondered. Patrolling, or just resting up. She seceded to base her schedule on his.

Alexia smiled at his question, remembering all her friends from her previous school. She laughed quietly, almost breathing it out before looking down at her plate. "Seattle, close to here, really." She said, a bit of sorrow and longing in her voice. She smiled again, and it faded quickly, trying not to show how much she missed living in Seattle. She looked up again, but away from the two, and saw a familiar face, familiar eyes, the blue-green color, the same as hers. Her brother, Ayden. Her eyes widened as he looked over at her and she turned her head away from him, squeezing her eyes shut and pressing her lips together. It was too late - He was already at her side.
"Hey, lil' sis!" He said energetically. What is he doing here?! He's supposed to be in English! She thought to herself, and turned her head the other direction, trying to come up with a reply. "Ayden," She said quietly, swallowing hard. She was very uncomfortable around her brother. He was so different from her, personality wise. She looked up at her new acquaintances, her face flushed bright red, indicating they shouldn't really try to get to know him that much.
After a moment of looking back and forth, he stood up and ruffled her hair slightly before walking off to sit with his friends. Alexia let out an exasperated laugh, her eyes full of humiliation and embarrassment.
"Any advice for this place? Like, you know, who to stay away from, that stuff?" She asked, her eyes narrowing as she tried to get the thought of her brother out of her head.

Leah rasied her eyebrows as another boy, obviously Alexia's brother. She seemed genuinely embaressed around him. Hm... Why? She thought. She glanced at Chris, and a smile crossed her face. All this time... Have I been falling for him? She thought suddenly, surprised. Or... is it more than that? Have I... Imprinted? She felt like she would do anything for him. Even kill herself. How could I imprint? I'm the she-wolf in the werewolf packs. The first in history. Is it possible that I have imprinted? Her thoughts trailed off. Her mind was blank. She blinked, then blinked again, shocked. Her eyes were wide with shock. She shook her head, hoping no one had seen her blank gaze.

Chris grinned and began to speak, when he saw Leah smiling at him. "The Cullens. Stay away from them. They're... not a good group to be around," he whispered, wincing when Bella's gaze met his. "Well, I'm done. Leah, you're done. Have a nice lunch!" he declared, carrying his and Leah's trays, dumping them, and stacking them to be cleaned. "Come on, Leah, I need to talk to you," he said quietly, heading over to the door and stepping outside, into a vacant alleyway.

She hopped up as he took her tray, and followed him. He whispered something to her, and her keen hearing took it. He needed to talk to her. What could this be... She wondered, following him out. He entered a dark, quiet alley. She stopped once she was by his side. "So.... What is it?" She asked him. She had something to tell him, too. She pulled a strand of her dark hair out of her face, and looked at him intently with her deep, expressive brown eyes. She was still fuming slightly, thinking, I can take care of myself! She ignored the feeling, the thought, and waited for him to say it. She watched a rat scurry across the ground, and then ignored it, too. She blocked it all out, to just focus on Chris. It wasn’t too hard. She really kind of like him. She couldn’t say that about most people. She had only felt like that with Sam, but that was gone. This was more.

Chris's words were coursing through his mind like bees hovering their hive. "I like you, a lot. When I'm around you, I feel happy, even on the grayest day. I enjoy your presence, and love it when you laugh. I don't know why, but I'm naturally drawn to you. I.. I might have imprinted on you, mutually. We've been friends as long as I've known you, and I finally found the guts to confess. I would never hurt you like Sam did, ever. I would've given you a rose every day, and tell you how beautiful you were. I would've strove to make you laugh, and to comfort you when you cried. I would've treasured you, I would've died, if I didn't have you," he seemed to blurt the words out like lightning, but he knew she could still hear his thoughts.

Her light brown eyes widened. "C-Chris... That was what I wanted to say to you!" She stammered. Then, a smile slowly spread across her lips. She took a deep breath. "Chris, I like you too. I want to be with you." Her words were shortened, but they held just as much meaning as his. She smiled, and then looked up at him, into his eyes. Her lips were up at the corners, and she blinked once. She looked down, to her shoes again. “But are you sure? I don’t… I don’t want what happened with Sam to happen again.” She stammered, biting her lip, which was now in a small frown. A tear moistened her eyes, and she blinked them back. She had no love for Sam, she convinced herself. This time, Imprinting would take over, and she could forget him. She clenched her fists, and her brown eyes looked back up at him.

Chris's ears went red with mortification, but his expression said otherwise. He had no idea whether he should kiss her or not, whether he should do anything but sit, but he just decided he would just murmur, "Thank God.." He said this very playfully, but after was in an awkward position. The alley was narrow, and they were already pressed together. The sky above was growing light, and Chris grinned. "The bloodsuckers will be leaving soon," he remarked absentmindedly, glancing into her eyes.

(ELLIOTT, I HAVE WARNED YOU HERE AND IN THE "JUST LET IT OUT" THREAD. ONE MORE TIME AND YOU WILL RECIEVE A 3 DAY BAN.) People busily scurried for the trash cans, dumping it out and going to their classes.

(Sorry. I looked at this last night, and was midpost when I turned the monitor off, and finished the post today. Gosh, I am really stupid. I looked at 'Just Let It Out' after I finished the post. Terribly sorry, it won't happen again.)
Silence filled the alley.
